That's when the nightmare began.....
They took their own really sweet time in despatching the part (not exactly amazon) and they happened to send it via EMS (when i chose an expedited shipping option of DHL), Its our very own charming Indian Speed Post! The site in order to reduce their own internal costs chose this dumb and highly unreliable option.
The package came and sat in Mumbai customs for a fortnight, by which time i had pretty much written off the money and the android tablet.
Get ready for this....
I get a call from the post office, and he tells me i have received a package from China and there is the slight matter of a customs duty to be paid to them before i can take it. I go there and he presents me with a bill of 10,000 INR (240 USD) ! wtf...@#*$!
I argue with this guy for what seems like an hour explaining that the price of the damn thing is not that high to warrant this much of a duty, even gave him a copy of the paypal receipt.
In the end, his attitude was like, you want it or not? I can't believe i actually shelled out that much of money and took the package.
When i opened it at home, seems like the boys in Customs have opened it and had a field day . To add insult to injury, The glass screen on the tablet is cracked due to them roughing the pack while going through the contents. I am now left in the red 500 dollars poorer with a tablet that can be a wall hanging. For the same amount, i could have gone for an IPAD2
So, in conclusion, if you live in India and want to order from these sites in China (like mcbub.com or everbuying.com), Think twice, infact its pretty much a no brainer. you'll get raped on customs assuming you get your package itself from them.
So to the boys in Cashtoms, hope you choke on the Beer and Chicken 65 your enjoying.
